Hi, I’m Kat, the baker behind Cloud & Crumb.My baking obsession started when I was five, fueled by a teeny-tiny toaster oven. It quietly stayed with me, even when I didn’t dare to dream it could become more.While finishing my PhD in Cancer Genomics at Stanford, I began to feel a quiet pull toward something more personal and grounding. Part of that came from losing my beloved aunt to breast cancer, which led me to reflect on the meaning of my work, and how I wanted to live my life. I realized that the best thing I could do in her honor was to follow my heart.And my heart wanted to bake.Cloud & Crumb is my small, sweet leap toward a life that feels full. I bake because I love it. But even more, because I love seeing others light up when they take that first bite.Whether it’s a crispy-edged madeleine or a gooey cinnamon roll, I hope each treat brings a little comfort, a little joy.
And a reminder that small dreams are worth chasing.
